Winter Savory is a dwarf hardy perennial which is a native of southern Europe.

The stems are woody at the base, much branched with oblong, linear leaves and pale purple flowers.

Grows well in poor stony soil.

Winter Savory is used as a culinary herb to flavour meat and fish. The dried leaves can be mixed with breadcrumbs and pressed into meat before cooking.
